Elementary School

Welcome

Welcome to the Elementary Division of Escuela Campo Alegre!

The Elementary School at ECA is dedicated to providing a safe environment that is conducive to learning for all students. We know that each child has strengths and we help them build on these allowing for their individuality, diversity, and uniqueness.

Our mission, vision and guiding statements puts ECA students at the center of all that we do. We have a highly qualified and dedicated staff that are committed to addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.

Our curriculum continues to be standards-based and globally accepted standards have been adopted for all areas of the Elementary curriculum. As well as offering the core subjects of math, language arts, science, and social studies, we have a strong specialist curriculum in Art, Music, Physical Education, Information Technology, Media/Library skills, and Spanish. We follow the philosophical belief that when outcomes are identified and taught utilizing common standards, unit plans, and innovation, enduring student understanding is the result.

We believe the education of the child is the shared responsibility of the school and family and work to foster a strong home/school partnership. As we work together as members of the ECA community we are confident that you and your child will have a memorable, dynamic year filled with meaningful learning experiences. We look forward to working closely with parents and students during the school year.

Early Childhood Program Overview

Our Early Childhood Program provides a child-centered environment where students in our Nursery, Pre-Kinder, and Kindergarten classes experience learning that is continually progressive and focuses on discovery.

We are dedicated to the growth of each student as they develop communication skills, and most importantly, actively participate in the learning process by exploring and discovering through hands-on and other meaningful experiences. We center our practice around the belief that early learning standards can be a valuable part of a comprehensive, high quality system of services for young children. Early Learning Guidelines serve as a framework for the process of children’s growth, development, and learning in the early years. They are designed to provide reasonable expectations for children at different ages so that educators have a criteria to refer to as they observe children in action, determine their levels of performance, and plan curricular interventions to help them grow, develop, and learn to their fullest potential. The Early Learning Guidelines form the basis of our planning, and staff meet to collaboratively structure the curriculum to be addressed throughout the year.

We are aware of the importance of being well informed about your child’s school program and believe a strong home/school partnership is the foundation for student success. Parents are important to us and we want to work with you as partners in your child’s education.

The ECA administrative team is committed to ensuring a safe, supportive and healthy environment exists in the Early Childhood years.

As we work together as members of the ECA learning community, we are confident that your child will have a memorable and dynamic year as we build an educational foundation and love of learning to last a lifetime.
