Why ECA?

Since 1937 ECA has been providing an American International English language program for students whose families are temporarily assigned to Caracas with international corporations and diplomatic agencies. Our students are from over 30 nations. Our teachers come to ECA for its innovative and effective teaching practices.

We believe that all students should have access to the most challenging curriculum possible. Our school is a place where we expect all students to stretch and work toward high standards. Small classes and a variety of small group and individual strategies help children achieve these standards and their individual potential.

We have a strong commitment to our partnership with parents. ECA is a community of learners – parents, teachers, students, and community members, working towards the common goal for excellent student achievement.

We work from rigorous curricular standards and hold ourselves accountable for those standards. Our standards reflect the best practices in leading international school throughout the world. This is no easy task in the world of education, but we believe it is the only way to truly improve the learning environment for children. That is our core business at ECA, doing whatever it takes to maximize learning.

Admission to ECA is based on an evaluation of academic records, questionnaires and recommendations from the former school, a personal interview with the student and the availability of class space. Class size limitations may prevent the admissions of all students who are academically capable of benefiting from ECA’s programs. ECA serves the children of international corporations and diplomatic agencies. International families and students from shareholding companies have priority in admissions; given that the student meets the admission criteria.
